The Prince William Chess Club was established in 1985 in Prince
William County, Virginia. The main purpose of Prince William Chess
Club is to provide interested individuals in and around the Prince
William County area with an opportunity to learn
and to play chess.
Prince William Chess Club is a non-profit organization devoted
to extending the role of chess in American Society.
Prince William Chess Club promotes the study and knowledge of the
game of chess, for its own sake as an art and enjoyment, but also
as a means for the improvement of society.
It informs, educates, and fosters the development of players (professional
and amateur) and potential players.
It encourages the development of a network of scholastic clubs
devoted to enhancing the growth of chess and it promotes chess in
Prince William County Schools.
There are currently over 200 members of the Prince William Chess
Club.

The Learning Center of the Prince William Chess Club promotes the
study and knowledge of the game of chess.
